About Seagrove, NC - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!
The town of Seagrove is located in Randolph County, North Carolina, approximately fifteen miles south of Asheboro and forty miles northwest of the village of Pinehurst. Named for railroad official Edwin G. Seagroves, the town was established in the late 18th century by immigrant potters from Pennsylvania and Virginia who realized the value of the local clay and started the town on its long and storied history of pottery making that brought it to its present status of “handmade pottery capital of the U. S.” Today, the town of Seagrove is home to a population of approximately 240 residents and nearly 100 shops and galleries that feature everything pottery from traditional housewares and tableware to historical reproductions and collectible pieces of art.
Local venues dedicated to the history and heritage of North Carolina pottery making include the Museum of North Carolina Traditional Pottery, located in downtown Seagrove that features exhibits and displays from area potteries; and the North Carolina Pottery Center that is dedicated to promoting awareness of North Carolina’s pottery heritage through exhibits, education, and community outreach.
Other local attractions include Seagrove Orchids, a working orchid nursery that features more than 200 different species of orchids, and the Zoo City Motor Sports Park, located just minutes away in nearby Asheboro, that features an outdoor motorcross track that offers fun and excitement for participants and spectators, alike.
With its mild to moderate seasonal climate and convenient proximity to the larger cities of Asheboro and Pinehurst, the town of Seagrove is a pleasure for living or visiting anytime of the year!
