About Robbins, NC - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!
The town of Robbins is located in Moore County, North Carolina approximately twenty-five miles south of the city of Asheboro. Settled in 1795 as Mechanics Hill by gunsmith Alexander Kennedy and his family, the town’s name was changed several times over the years before finally becoming the town of Robbins in 1943, in honor of prominent citizen Karl Robbins. Robbins is the hometown of former North Carolina senator John Edwards, and of the late Charles E. Brady, a U. S. Navy Captain, NASA astronaut, and flight surgeon for the Blue Angels. Today, the town of Robbins is a friendly, down-home community that is home to a population of approximately 1,100 citizens who enjoy the town’s small town atmosphere and authentic character that remind you of the great communities of the past!
Robbins is famous for its numerous annual festivals and community events! The Robbins Farmers Day is a three-day event that is held each August. With more than 600 entries, it features the largest horse parade on the east coast and enjoys the attendance of more than 30,000 spectators annually. The Robbins Dark Park is a weeklong gathering of amateur scientists, astronomers, and photographers that features lectures, a photo contest, and camp-out under the stars where participants can enjoy viewing the planets, constellations, moons, nebulae, satellites, and more!
The Robbins Farmer’s Market and Fireman’s Market are two separate events that are popular with residents and visitors, alike! The Farmer's Market is held seasonally in the old Robbins Train Depot and offers fresh, homegrown produce, as well as arts and craft items by local area artists. The Fireman’s Market is a bi-monthly flea market/farmer’s markets held in downtown Robbins that allows residents to buy and sell items within prescribed parameters.
With the affordable cost of living, high quality of life, nice variety of shops, restaurants, and cafes, and great natural resources in Bear Creek, Cabin Creek, and the Deep River, it is easy to see why the residents of Robbins love their town!
